2025 FOX Photo Contest

The 2025 FOX Photo Contest organized by TORCA helped me challenge myself to be better than I did in my entry in 2023. The challenge not only focused on overall results but also on how we can separate ourselves from the rest of the crowd since everyone else will be focusing on the big, scary, and popular features. From what I could gather, a lot of entries shot a rider on the Mandangler, an extremely popular rolling feature that Eagle Mt. is known for. I predicted this, and wanted to shake it up by trying to tell a story with the collection of these 5 photos. We ultimately ended up 2nd in the pro category which I am extremely proud of, and it was a direct improvement compared to 2023.

A single ride can change someone's day, week, or even life. While we shot for the contest, a fellow rider crossed our path, sparking a conversation about how good our day had been. Connecting over small anecdotes from home, they told us that whenever they're grumpy, their spouse suggests a ride. For many, a ride feels like therapy, and the forest always provides. One moment, you're building a relationship with the trees, admiring their magnificence. Next, you're setting goals and testing yourself on the climbs. Eventually, you intervene by throwing shapes and finding your own lines on the descent. By the end of the ride, you know you've spent a good day out on the trails, leaving your troubles behind.
